Privacy note
In short
The map can be used without giving any personal data. The two forms at the bottom of the page are optional. In the first form an email address is optional; in the question form an email address is required, because it is the only way to send the answer. No name, phone number or account is asked for.
What the forms collect
“What would you use?” stores the options that were ticked, the email address if one was typed, and the time of the submission.
“A question about the data?” stores the text of the question, the email address that was typed, and the time of the submission.
The site itself does not store IP addresses, device details or cookies, and it carries no advertising or cross-site trackers.
Why, and on what basis
Ticked options are used to judge whether a fuller version is worth building. An email address is used only to say when that version opens (first form, if one is given), or to answer a question (question form). The basis is consent: nothing is stored unless the form is submitted.
Where it is kept, and who sees it
Form entries are kept in a database at Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site. Cloudflare also handles the technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as the IP address of a request, under its own terms. Entries are not sold, not shared with advertisers and not combined with other data.
How long
Email addresses and questions are kept until the full version has been announced, or for 12 months after submission, whichever comes first, and are then deleted. Anonymous votes (no email) are kept as counts.
Data stored in your browser
The map stores two things in your browser only: the chosen colour theme and the list of coins starred as “Watching”. They never leave your device and can be cleared in the browser settings.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what was stored with your email address, or withdraw consent, at any time by writing to contact@finbasis.app from that address. A request without the email used cannot be matched to an entry, because nothing else identifies a submission.
Changes
This note is updated here when something changes; the date at the top shows the latest version.
