Finbasis

Order size cost calculator

What an order of your size costs to open and close, measured from live order books on two venues: Hyperliquid, an on-chain exchange (DEX), and Bitget, a centralised exchange (CEX). Pick a coin, a measured order size and your own fees; by default both legs are market (taker) orders, and either leg can be switched to a limit (maker) order. Figures are a share of the position size, in percent or basis points: switch with the % | bp button (1 bp = 0.01%).

A maker leg is a limit order: only the maker fee, no impact. A negative maker fee is a rebate.

Round trip: open and close

How to read this

Impact is how far the average fill price of a market order of your size is from the mid price, averaged over a buy and a sell, with half of the bid-ask spread included and fees excluded. Round trip is the cost of the entry leg plus the exit leg. A taker (market) leg costs the taker fee + impact; with both legs taker that is 2 × (taker fee + impact). A maker (limit) leg costs only the maker fee and no impact, because a limit order does not cross the spread; a negative maker fee is a rebate. The second figure uses the 90th percentile of impact: in 1 of 10 measurements the cost was at least that high.

Or download the files: Perpetual futures: cost by order size (CSV), cost by hour of day (CSV), description (TXT); Spot: cost by order size (CSV), cost by hour of day (CSV), description (TXT). The hour-of-day file for perpetual futures is large (about 1 MB): downloading it is more reliable than copying.

The two venues are Hyperliquid, an on-chain exchange (DEX), and Bitget, a centralised exchange (CEX), the same as on the Perp Cost Map. Venue names say where the data comes from; Finbasis is not affiliated with either venue. Nominal fees are the base taker and maker fees without any discount or rebate; enter your own. This is a historical measurement, not a quote and not financial advice. Nothing you type leaves this page.
